Your Top Five Films That Bring Back Childhood Memories

Post by GLCQuantum »

Have recently been having bouts of nostalgia in relation to movies. What are the first five films that spring to mind from your earlier days.

For me the following...

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Hans Christian Anderson (Wonderful Wonderful Copenhagen.... :D )
Honey I Shrunk the Kids
Lady and the Tramp
Suburban Commando (Don't ask...!)

This is where you give your age away. Who cares

My five:

Kid for two farthings
Quo Vadis
Titanic
Kit Carson - Saturday matinees
Mutiny on the Bounty (Lawson version)
RICHARD OF LOXLEY

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

Thought I'd whack a few of the moments from the five films that are memorable to myself (*WARNING* To one that has never seen the films before, the clips may come across as the most awful piece of movie making imaginable)

Hans..

Chitty..

Lady and the Tramp...

Suburban Command....   ( alright I was like 9 years old or something - Hulkamania!) Edit - just remembered I was able to see my first (of many) viewing(s) of the baby below on the big screen with pops. :D

Couldn't find a good one for "Honey I Shrunk the Kids". A few there but not 'memorable' moments.

The Neverending Story... how the hell did I miss that one. What was that flying dog's name again?

Ooh - 'Dark Crystal'! Alright so I took 6 - Baa Baa started it!

Night of the Living Dead (watched it at youth club and was scared to walk home  ).
Easy Rider
Sound of Music (memorised all the songs, and sang them badly)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Any (and probably all of the) Lassie films

How do you define earlier days?

When a kid, CCBB, Mary Poppins, anything Disney, saturday morning movies and the three stooges, Batman.

Growing up, Oliver, The Longest day (it felt like it), Carry on's, Diamonds are for Forever, and SWALK

Nearly there, Walkabout (oo-er), Straw Dogs, Clockwork Orange, Soldier Blue, Gimme Shelter and er, Emmanuel!
Talk is cheap

Since people are adding on I have to mention Dr. Zhivago as well. Stunning movie. Pete
