70-100 Baht per day? I'm not sure, but it's not a lot.

It depends where you are. There are sunbeds, tables and umbrellas all the way from the Hilton to the main beach entrance, then again scatterings of them past the Sofitel and right along to the Marriott.

I generally use them for a few hours and have never been charged for the sunbed itself. All the providers offer food and drinks - the choice and quality varies. So if you're there for any length of time you will no doubt eat and drink, and as far as I'm aware, that is all you pay for.

If you do not eat or drink I think it's approx 20 baht for the bed but I can't be sure about that. I've been down for less than an hour before, used the bed and not been charged anything when I left. They make their money from the food and drink, not the beds.

How is the situation with sunbeds and umbrellas in Khao Takiab Beach?
I'm intending to stay in Hua Hin Bluewave Beach Resort hotel soon and will be thankful for any information concerning this hotel and beach close to the hotel

Baltic,
I'm sorry, but I can't resist this reply.
If you're going to stay at the aforementioned resort, why on earth are you worried about whether there are any umbrellas etc?
You're coming to a hot country, so shade is advisable most of the time. Of course the hotel will have them.
Can't comment on how good it is as I've never been there.

The reason of my stupid  question is that I'm not intending to stay in hotel territory and use swimming pool, but being psoriasis (sort of skin disease) heavy sufferer I need to stay close to sea, swim in salty sea water as much as possible and take sunbath having NO sunscreen on psoriatic areas of my skin. And these are about 80% of whole skin area
So it is a bit different to usual "touristy" behaviour. 8)

Other issue is that this will be my first visit to Hua Hin.
I have no idea about the place at all, because more than 10 years I have visited Phuket, Karon Beach 1-2 times per year.
In Karon I know everything what to expect - what kind of weather, about sunbeds availability close to sea and these price etc...

But in Karon mid-October is not so sunny weather, therefore I decided in favour of Hua Hin this time (can't wait until December-Januar).
And of course no clear idea, what kind of weather it will be, is somewhere any Internet connection for laptop user (preferably WiFi) available ... and many more questions still coming.

Therefore I'm surfing this forum and giving stupid questions

Baltic,
I had no idea that you suffered from that ailment. I've had it too over here, but to a much lesser degree.
I'm sure you'll find umbrellas on the beach by the hotel. If not, ask them to put one out for you. It's not far for them to make you comfortable.
HH dosn't get as much rain as Phuket, but around OCT time, you can expect some, particularly mid afternoon.
It's not clear from your post whether you're coming in Oct, or over Dec/Jan. The weather in the latter will be cooler and much less chance of rain.
Take a look at the digital realm forum. There's a discussion going on there at the moment about wi-fi, ADSL etc.

Hi Baltic,

Blue Wave is on the other side of Khao Takiab from the main Hua Hin town beach. Only been on the beach there once or twice and to be honest not sure about the sunbed situation there. The further along you go the less chance there is I think. The beach there is mostly used by Thai's at the weekend.

Blue Wave may well provide some sort of service but I've never been so you might want to send the hotel an email.

If not, you can always travel nearer to town and use the beach and facilities there.

I'm an Estonian and of course English is not my native language, sorry for my expressions causing possible misunderstanding
I will arrive to HH Oct.18 and will go back to home Nov.01, that's clear, paid and agreed.
If rain is on mid afternoon (and quick heavy short rainfall, not slow "mushroom rain" and gray skies days after days, as we have here in Nordic), then it is pretty fine! Time for some Singha then

However hopefully most of the day (and especially before lunchtime) will be some sunshine, maybe still through some clouds ? That will suit me very well :D

Thanks for Your comment concerning Digital realm section.
Actually all HHAD forum sections I check several times per day, as this is one of the best sources of information about real HH available over Internet.

Thanks Heebio,

Thailand (or as often called in Phuket.com forum) LOS - Land Of Smiles - is a wonderful place where it is rather difficult to be in trouble :D

So I will not foresee any problem for me within my first forthcoming visit to Hua Hin.
Only it is always fine to receive some info in advance from people who know local things well.
This is one of targets of this forum, I suppose?

After Nov.02 when I'm back in home, there will be from me more of sharing the HH newbie experience (and if wonder happens that my hotel HH Bluewave Resort has some kind of Internet connection/hotspot where I can connect my laptop, then even before, almost every day) :thumb:

There is plenty of shade available around the Blue Wave. It is quite a quiet spot.

Rain is unpredictable even in late October when it's coming to an end. Iy does not usually goon for much more than one hour but can be overcast for much of the day.

Another goodspot is Sea Pine Garden which is about 4KM south of Blue Wave.

Lots of parasols sun beds and natural shade from the trees.

As for your English, don't worry there are English people who are in their forties and fifties who have written on this forum who have not reached your standard yet.

Of course we all want you to visit Hua Hin as often as possible but concerning your skin complaint I strongly recomen a week at the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. It is about half way between Reykjavik and Keflavik.

Hi Baltic,
stayed a few times in Takiab beach resort wich is a small hotel just behind the bluewave. In front of the blue wave ,right on the beach you will find a few small food and drinkshops wich offer sunbeds each.most of them will try to catch you as customer while your arriving at the beach. They will charge you 50 baht for a sunbed per day,but if you buy drinks and food from their shop you can negociate to have the sunbed for free(if it's worth for u for the 50 baht). You will find a peacefull beach at this time, just on week-ends the beach will be crowded by thai tourists, wich will give Life to this beach.
The Blue Wave has also an internet connection but dont know for your laptop.Wish u a pleasant stay,I'll be back on 02.11
