Any icehockey followers?

Post by Bamboo Grove »

For those who like the game of icehockey. I've just set up a fantasy league for NHL which will start after a years holiday on stike.
Go for www.sportingnews.com and select fantasy and there hockey.
Next choose Fantasy Hockey Challenge on the write side of the page and there learn more. They'll ask you to register as with other fantasy things as well. Then log in and enter your team and join the league "Suomi Siam Seura" and build your team up. You will need to have 7 players every week to score points. The league will start in 5th October
Monthly prizes.

Sorry but I thought this may be worth a mention here.

Osmosis

1. Slow change in concentration: the flow of a solvent by diffusion through a semipermeable membrane from a less concentrated solution to a more concentrated one, until the concentrations are equalized. It is a major factor in regulating the movement of water into and out of tissues in living organisms.

2. Gradual absorption: the gradual, often unconscious, absorption of knowledge or ideas through continual exposure rather than deliberate learning
She seemed to have picked up a working knowledge of Greek by osmosis.

As for REVERSED OSMOSIS

it is used to produce freshwater from seawater (Thought you would want to know)

But for Osmo it would probably produce Beer Chang?

BG,
lots of Canadians will be around at U-Turn when winter comes, probably some interest there.
We like the way Finland plays, BTW. :thumb:

The owner is from Alberta and there is always sports of one kind or another on his TVs...although I don't know if golf qualifies as a sport

So what's your favourite team in the NHL, then? I don't really have one, I tend to follow the teams with Finnish players closer than the others. My own hometown's team plays in the Finnish premierleague and is currently somewhere in the mid-table. The national team is the most important one.

BG, not sure if you were asking me or WingNut or others.
WingNut might be a Detroit fan.
My team has won only 24 Stanley Cups - Montreal Canadiens. :thumb:
I was lucky enough to grow up in Montreal in the 50s and 60s, the Golden Age of the NHL.

What is the life without ice-hockey? Nothing, ice-hockey is more than life. :D

I really love ice-hockey and I'm fanatical hockey supporter. Team number one is my hometown hockeyclub (Pelicans). Now I have been season tickets about 18 years/season. After that second come to National team Finland.

In NHL I look at the how Finnish players playing. My favourite team is there Phidelphia Flyers, but this is not so serious.
Blackburn Rovers, pride of East Lancashire.
Burnley never play Premierleague.

Wings Fan

Post by WingNut »

You Guessed it, I am a Detroit Red Wings Fan. I was born in Detroit and followed them since befor the Dead Wings era. I quite starver of hockey. I am working in Iraq currently but I have my inline blades and a stick to keep me sane. I was in Korea before and that is when I fell in love with Thailand. My wife and I vacation often there. However, we have pretty much only been to Phuket. BKK of course and a weekend in Pattaya. We love to drink, but really love the Thai food. So we restaurant hop as much as bar hop.

Back to the important stuff. I understand wanting to follow the Finns, they have reall come on as with your neighbour the Swedes. Man, it has been some real exciting Olympics, eh?

I will be in town in January from 6th to 17. Anyone want to talk hockey, let me know. If you want to talk beer and woman, then that is great too.

The Olympics hockey final btw Swe and Fin was a thriller. We watched it along with about 300 others, mainly from Sweden and Finland in a Swedish restaurant and after the match both teams' supporters were in very friendly terms with each other and I even received a Swedish team shirt from one guy that I went to congratulate after the match. No hooliganism or fights there, that was good fun, although we lost the match.

In Canada many wanted Finland to win and thought they were the best team in the tournament.
Canada sucked :guns: ... too old, too fat, too slow and paid too mutt.
