New Year Events
I've still not decided where to go to "see in the new year" obviously the bar area will be busy but can do that any night. I know about the event at Market Village and that's an option. If anybody knows of any other planned events that might be fun then please post them here!

Re: New Year Events
Cicada Market has an 'Orange' Festival going on. It's a really nice venue, if you've not been there and is improving all the time. Nice ambience, free entertainment, good food choice. It will be packed, creating a nice atmosphere, so get there early to find parking and beat the traffic.
If you see someone wearing an orange wig, that will be me.

RICHARD OF LOXLEY
It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

There will be a huge free concert at 19 Rai. This includes a small market (cheaper than regular Hua Hin markets), a small fun fair, plenty of food and beer for sale at reasonable prices, and tomorrow's headline act is Paowalee:

Couple of snaps from Cicada's New Year Eve Party. Due to server problems, this is separated into 2 posts....
There was a competition for the best costume in an orange theme. Winner receives 40,000 thb. Our youngster had this elaborate dress, knocked up by a ladyboy dress shop and boy can't you tell. The outfit pressed all the right buttons. The name 'Cicada' on the dress lit up with led lights; the theme was 'bananas'... in keeping with the chocolate frozen bananas her mother sells there... BUT, as I tried to tell them, it needed to be Orange, without the black. Sure enough disaster fell. She never made the final and was as upset as disappointed young ladies can be.
Not to worry. She was a hit with the public, has a great memory to look back on and just like school exams, has learned, you have to read the question properly!

Re: New Year Events
The second snap had the unmistakable whiff of commercialism. Singha water sent a buxom wench in a 'light' dress, which certainly drew attention. The dress was on wheels, so she couldn't travel very far.
A Magic Act, Jazz Band, Live free entertainment on stage and finally, as I was heading home, stopped to watch the firework display on the beach, behind the Continental, which was high quality.
A nice evening, even without the winner's cheque.

We went to the Paowalee concert at 19 Rai:
A full evening of first class entertainment, with the star of the show Paowalee:
The evening was organised by the Tessabahn, and at midnight members of Hua Hin Tessabahn stood on stage, and let of the biggest party poppers I've ever seen.
When the fun was over, the star of the show was happy to pose with her fans for photographs:
An excellent night of entertainment.
