Theres a VW place near Soi 35 with a couple of Kombi's in the yard - not looking at their best though.

Can you post a picture, I thought the Kombi was the old version, more Hippie than Scooby Doo. There's all sorts of old cars lying about in odd places here.

I assume you are looking for a split screen van like this - a real classic!! If you find two, let me know please and I'll have one. I had two slightly new versions some years back in the UK, a 1971 model and a 1978 version, both able to sleep 4 (very cozily mind you). Good hunting!!

I thought that was pretty much the same as they have at Soi 35 but I don't look closely at them, only when waiting at the lights but I saw something similar just the other week in Petchaburi and it did look in good condition. It was brown and white. If I see any I'll post.

The Type 1 vans are pretty rare these days as the last ones were built in 1967 or 68 and suffered badly from rust, then came along the Type 2 which were the ones I owned, although the newer one of the two i owned had been updated and had a 2.0L air cooled engine rather than the 1600cc. Great times had in both of them including camping trips to France in the 90's.

Last month there was a later 70's version, similar to the one above, for sale at a place on the right going towards Hin Lek Fai at a place that sells car stereos and does window tint. ( They did a good job on replacing window tint. )
