Garden shower

Post by SpitfireMk3 »

Hi

We have lately been considering buying an outdoor shower we can have near the pool, so we do not need to go inside the house just to get a clean. Do you know where we can buy such a garden shower?

Best regards,

Claus

With some holes in dear Liza :D

Seriously I have not seen any exterior showers in any if the DIY shops but I did ask the question if some Thai friends, quite some time ago and they said that some of the pool shops stocked them or could order them.

You can buy the various components from any of the DIY chains and get somebody (a competent person  ) to complete the installation.

One idea that I may employ is to use one of the garden light stands and to run the pipe inside the light stand to hide it and keep it in the design of my garden.
Before any bright spark asks, it will if course only be the light stand shell with no electrical supply.

On a serious note did not Rider post something about a homemade solar powered outdoor shower some months back?

Not sure if your referring to the water temperature Richard, but I find that other than during the wet season when it's cloudy for many days at a time (but when you are less likely to be using the outdoor facilities), the ambient temperature is sufficient.

DB,

Was thinking more of his outside setup as opposed to the temperature. His set up got a lot of the usual derisory criticism for a neat simple invention I recall

In an indoor shower, you don't have to worry about the neighbours watching

My assumption is a more durable fixture, since it will be exposed to the elements?

I have an outside shower using a normal cold (it's not really is it?) tap and a B100 shower head from the local shop...works fine!

Maybe the OP is asking about a small change room / shower, not just a water outlet.

Dear All,

Thanks for the suggestions. The idea is to have a place where on can remove the worst of the swimming pool Water before sitting Down for a beer. Going into the house just to take a short shower feel like overkill.

Anyway - in stead for buying a specific I might be able to mingle something together with various parts.

Thanks

Claus

Mine is sort of a spiral wall with a concrete shower basin and lots of nooks for shampoo, soap growing orchids etc. it was designed with the house but a competent builder could nock one up in a day. I actually prefer it to the inside one and the water pressure is better.
