I want to buy a new drilling machine and have my eyes on a black & decker 750 watt or a bosch 550 watt
The price is similar 1700 promotion, so any recommendation on wich name is the best ?
Thanks in advantage.
drilling machine
Re: drilling machine
It depends on what you want to do with it. I would not have a Black & Decker as a gift, mainly because I used to repair them and they are c--p. Bosch is a good brand name, but the problem here is it may well be a fake!bsdk1960 wrote:I want to buy a new drilling machine and have my eyes on a black & decker 750 watt or a bosch 550 watt

Re: drilling machine
If you want to drill holes in concrete you need to make sure that the machine has a "hammer", or percussion function.bsdk1960 wrote:Thanks, the bosch i saw at thai watsadu and I think that would be the one.

Re: drilling machine
It has a hammer for sure, and on my work we use dewalt aku drilling but that must for schrewing and not fotr drilling.
The reason I not wont it with batteries is I wont be using it that often, and when im back home I cannot maintaine
the batteries properbly, and will not leave to my thai girlfriend as she 100 % will forget it.

Re: drilling machine
Also, unless you get a top of the range model, a battery operated hammer drill is unlikely to be powerful enough to go through concrete. A SDS drill is probably the best type to go for.bsdk1960 wrote:It has a hammer for sure, and on my work we use dewalt aku drilling but that must for schrewing and not fotr drilling.

Re: drilling machine
Ive owned power tools by both company's. B&D used to be good, many years ago.bsdk1960 wrote:Thanks, the bosch i saw at thai watsadu and I think that would be the one.

Now I would go with the Bosch.
They seem to last longer and be a little more heavy duty.
Ive found that, with using a hammer drill, its better to have it mains powered as the battery's run down quickly on the battery powered models.

Re: drilling machine
Anyone on here owns or knows where to find one of these machines?

I need a few holes drilled in carbon fibre material.
Cheers!

Re: drilling machine
Thai Watsadu on the way to Cha Am has them in several sizes Home Pro may also but I don't remember seeing them there.
Re: drilling machine
While were on the subject of tools---Where can I find a 4-5" jaw bench vise? Home Pro has 6" or larger (didn't measure but way too large) and less than 4" and Thai Watsadu has NONE.
