Filing Cabinet

Post by Hobiecat »

Has anyone seen a place to by a decent filing cabinet?
Why is it called 'after dark' when it really is 'after light'?

I bought mine at Big Kiang on Soi 88. The price was probably the most decent thing about it but they had a reasonable choice at the time.

Hobiecat, did you ever find a filing cabinet. I haven't been able to find hanging file boxes or filing cabinets. I did look at Big Kiang and they did not have any.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

In recent times we have purchased from both Big Kiang and Home Pro.. Also you might try try the other Big Kiang store on the over side of the flyover ... on the right going South.

Thanks Bapak, I will try the other Big Kiang as the one on 88 and HomePro no longer stock them. About the only other two places that I haven't tried are Index and Winer or Wimer... that place at the north end of town on the opposite side from Index.

Have you tried Koncept beside H.H. airport (way past Macro heading North)?
Google maps location: 12.631607,99.950005.
They have a massive selection of office furniture although I'm not sure about filing cabinets. I bought a nice storage cabinet I use for my work stuff..

Well, I finally found a filing cabinet at Koncept as Ginjaninja suggested (thanks), but only for legal size hanging folders and all my folders are letter size so now I'm off to find legal size hanging file folders. What would be a simple 1 hour task in most places will end up taking a week here and the cost in gasoline will be more than I paid for the cabinet itself! :banghead:

Good luck! I looked at a big office supply shop in Bangkok last week, as I could have picked up what you originally wanted. Yes, right! They did not have ANY hanging folders, letter, legal or "Thai" size! They did have a two drawer wooden filing cabinet for 2,850 Baht. I actualy have one the same, and the top draw fell out and broke about the second time I used it!

Just as an example, I use AA Insurance and when you go to their office they have many filing cabinets with hanging files in them so they must be available - maybe a word with Mat would provide the answer?

Got my file folders from Pen and Paper just north of the petrol station (east side of Phetkasem road just north of Chomsin road). They had a good supply starting at 120 baht for a 10 pack.

Now that this saga is over I have a butt-load of U.S. letter sized (hangers 12.25 inches wide) hanging file folders I don't need. If anyone can use them let me know and I'll try to save them from being thrown out by the missus and get them to you.
