A trainer aircraft carrying two men crash landed on a beach about 600 metres from Hua Hin aiport on Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported.
The plane, an Austrian-built DA40, was heavily damaged. The two people on board were unharmed.
A witness said the aircraft appeared to malfunction shortly after takeoff.
Staff from the airport removed the remaining fuel from the plane as a precaution against an explosion.
The cause of the incident was being investigated.
