Late 90 day
Late 90 day
Hello there,
Heading to Phitsanulok tomorrow for my 90-day report, but I´m two days late. What can I expect? Fine?
This info is probably in the forum somewhere but a bit tricky to find, so I hope for some quick answer from you guys.

Re: Late 90 day
You have up to 7 days after the due date. It also used to be 7 days before, but I beleive that has been extended to 15 days.parbeau wrote:Hello there,

Re: Late 90 day
I never tested this grace period before as I am careful to do everything within the rules for Immigration, but as I'm getting older, I'm getting more forgetful and yesterday I picked up my passport to check and found that my 90 day was due on the 4th. Yesterday was the 11th, so exactly 7 days late. I immediately filled out the form and rushed to Immigration at 2 p.m. and went directly to the express 90 day desk. I told her I had never been late before but I just realized it was due the previous Monday and that I hoped I was not in any trouble. She smiled and said you have 7 days after and today is your 7th day so, no problem. As usual for this service, I was in and out in 5 minutes.
So it's verified in case anyone was not trusting the law on that. Needless to say I was very relieved.
I forgot to ask what would have happened if I had waited until today which would be 8 days. Is it a fine?

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Re: Late 90 day
No HHF, it's not fine.
For the first time ever, I forgot to report last week (the limit) what with the kids being off school, storms, floods etc. I was 10 days late so 3 days beyond the allowed grace. Cost me 1,000 baht and was reminded that I have 15 days before to report as well as 7 days after. With a 3 week window, I have no excuse really.

Re: Late 90 day
Think hhfarang meant is there a fine after 7 days over the reporting date rather than is it OK.
There is a fine and I'm trying to remember how much it is. Used to be stated on some 90 day report forms but mine was taken out of my passport when I returned from the UK in September. I'll hazard a guess that the fine is 200 THB a day up to a max of 5,000 (or both?) although many Imm offices just levy a blanket fine no matter what the time over as HHTel has experienced.
EDIT
Just taken a look at the fine and it appears usually to be 2,000 THB if you offer and agree to pay or 4,000 THB if it ends up in the courts. The maximum is 5,000 with another possible 200 a day until the fine is paid.
Each Imm office will decide what their going rate is within the above general framework.

It would be a good idea to pin this link as a new thread to help answer future questions without the need to ask or search. Last month I was 21 days late. The fine was 2000 but through a Visa rep, reduced to 1000.

How much did the visa rep charge?MrPlum wrote:Last month I was 21 days late. The fine was 2000 but through a Visa rep, reduced to 1000.
Talk is cheap
Re: Late 90 day
Nothing. Not sure how much I can say but the rep I used is married to an Immigration employee.caller wrote:How much did the visa rep charge?

Hold your horses. Total fee, including the fine was 1000. I can provide contact details, to anyone who wishes, of two Visa agents, via pm. One is better connected. The other, significantly cheaper.caller wrote:Oh okay, a favour of sorts then. Not a lot of help to others.
For example. I decided to delay paying 800,000 thb into the bank, until the final month, since I was using the money for something else. Thought the fine wouldn't be too bad. Big mistake. They told me to leave the country, apply for a tourist Visa, then go through the retirement Visa process again. A Visa agent was recommended to me. Cost to sort out, 20,000. Recently found another Visa agent. She said it would have cost 3-4,000.
Hope that clarifies.
