Re: Gym Equipment
Better go to a Fitnesscenter, where you get professional advice and where you can train on professional equipment
But if you prefer to do it by your self, you maybe find something on this site: http://www.ultimatefitnessthailand.com/

Re: Gym Equipment
I read on a different forum (ahem!) that there is a place in Pranburi opposite Tesco which sells gym equipment. Haven't checked it out but will next week.
Re: Gym Equipment
I can confirm there is a shop opposite the Tesco complex in Pranburi, and from the road it looks as though they have a good range of equipment.

Re: Gym Equipment
If you buy Equipment that lasts longer then a half year of seriuos training, you will spend at least 200`000 Bath on it. For that you can train many years in a fitness facility
Re: Gym Equipment
Are you talking about a single piece of equipment?VeniceBeach wrote:If you buy Equipment that lasts longer then a half year of seriuos training, you will spend at least 200`000 Bath on it. For that you can train many years in a fitness facility
Re: Gym Equipment
venice beach is right. Most of the domestic gym equipment available is poorly made and will fall apart.Trying to find someone to service it here is a big problem.
If you want treadmills or stationary bikes, buy a commercial model,it will set you back 70 to 80000bht a piece, but it will be solid and last a long time.
Those universal style all in one bench press lat pull down machines, are badly designed for lifting, and can actually cause damage, plus the machines are cheaply made.
Either spend a good amount of money in a shop in bangkok that has professional equipment or join a good fitness centre where the gym owner will help you with new training ideas, and take in account your age, health and what your goals are.

A quality Treadmill will be around 70-100k (this is just for cardio training)
For a complete training you will also need at least a Barbell, a PowerRack and some Weights.
Cheap All-in-one equipment is only designed for People to buy and not use it. Cause if you use it frequnetly it will fall apart in no time.

It's junk.zeitgeist wrote:I read on a different forum (ahem!) that there is a place in Pranburi opposite Tesco which sells gym equipment. Haven't checked it out but will next week.

Re: Gym Equipment
and if you need a gym closer to town, the newly opened gym on 102 has 3 floors of training, cardio equipment first floor, plus an outdoor bootcamp style area, and a weights room 2nd floor which i think next week has some more equipment coming from bkk,lat pulldown machine and a few more.VeniceBeach wrote:I dont know where you live in HH but there will be a Gym opened soon in Hin Lek Fai Area.

The third floor has been expanded into a larger yoga/aerobics room.
Dean the owner has 25years experience in training,so a wealth of knowledge..

Re: Gym Equipment
I have been there. Its a nice little place and Deen the Owner seems to have a lot of solid knowledge. But the Standart and amount of equipment is not exactly, what I am looking for.jingjoe wrote:and if you need a gym closer to town, the newly opened gym on 102 has 3 floors of training, cardio equipment first floor, plus an outdoor bootcamp style area, and a weights room 2nd floor which i think next week has some more equipment coming from bkk,lat pulldown machine and a few more.VeniceBeach wrote:I dont know where you live in HH but there will be a Gym opened soon in Hin Lek Fai Area.

Re: Gym Equipment
I understand what you are saying but powerfit102 has only been open 6 weeks and from what i understand theres over 1milllion bht of equpment coming in a few weeks, plus they are expanding next door so now 3 floors high and 3 across, should be ample equipment in town.VeniceBeach wrote:I have been there. I joined powerfit 102 when they were in sam roi yod,its nice to see a business grow into something special, and i think cate and dean the owners really go out of their way to help and meld into the local community.
Its good to see we have a variety of options whether it be up in the hills like vb is spruiking or closer to town.

The only one "spruiking" around is you my friend. I just wanted to let people know, that something is coming up. You dont have to defend your friends Gym at all
