'No Entry' signs on Chomsin Rd..??

Post by usual suspect »

This one is confusing me a little (which is not hard :) )
Last night workmen put up 'No Entry' signs either side of the road at the Petkasem/Chomsin traffic-lights..so making the road from Petkasem Westward towards the rail-crossing & Pala-U Rd closed to traffic..??
Now I've ridden this section this morning, yes the signs are there, but every motorist (& myself) went up towards the market area/rail crossing as normal.
Are the planners going to maybe introduce a 1-way system..? They already f**k up the Pala-U rd/Chomsin Rd traffic every weekend by putting cones down at the Petkasem Jtn. & stopping any right turns onto Petkasem, thus traffic has to go along the railway road or thru' the market area..result..?
...gridlock.. :banghead:

So has anyone any more info on these new signs??

The signs in the OP have been covered in paper, so are obviously not in effect yet. I have seen similar signs covered by paper appearing along the railway road from the station to the crazy roundabout/railway crossing. I can only conclude that US is correct when he suggests a one-way system.

Of course, TIT, so it won't apply to motorcyclists :cuss:

Is the parallel road between PK and railway road going to be one way too. I visualise the small soi into the Chinese Temple becoming a (blocked and not so) shortcut. Anyone seen any plans for what will happen? If managed properly it might help however..... big IF!!

As an extra bit to my OP... on the 'seaside' of the Chomsin/Petkasem Jtn. there are now new signs showing a straight-on arrow with a red line thru' it. (to match-up with the no-entry signs on the west side of Petkasem)
Now every motorist is driving up towards the rail-crossing Westbound as they've always done..BUT..
are the cameras above rolling?..will there be fines going out later..??
(Popular time is when you go to tax your vehicle and there are 'outstanding' fines to pay before you can tax/insure the vehicle.
I for one have found an alternative route now.

Yes, it will be one way with traffic flowing towards Soi 70. When traffic gets to Soi 70, it will be able to turn left or right, but the right turn will not have traffic flowing in the opposite direction.
