Re: Harley dealers or bigger bike dealers
I would not have dared to say that, even if think the same about Harleys, but the Buell-xb12s- is quite a different bike and the specs are here :usual suspect wrote:The closest Harley dealer will have a big sign outside that reads..'KUBOTA'

And I read that recentily but did not see it yet :
" A new shop is being constructed on the southbound lane of the Cha-Am to Hua Hin road with a banner sign reading 'Harley-Davidson"
Re: Harley dealers or bigger bike dealers
The new Ducati showroom maybe able to service your Buell. Or there is the Kawasaki big bike showroom in Kuiburi.

I would suggest going to H.D. in BKK.

You could pay for someone to stick it in the back of their pick-up if you don't fancy the ride.

Gerard..many years ago now I often got offered test-rides on Buells & never took them up..maybe I shoulda' done..? (Do prefer the shape of the early ones tho'..new ones are to 'squared off' IMO).
As for Harleys..listen to them start & run..that engine was just meant to pump water for rice fields all day long in Issan..pob-pob-pob-pob-pob

Now now U.S. behave...
We have a new forum member here...
Grunter,
the Harley boys often meet at El Murphys on Saturday morning prior to a run, might be worth making an effort and sampling a great Murphys fry-up. I may have a contact... p.m. me and I'll try and get it to you.

anyone riding triumphs
Re: Harley dealers or bigger bike dealers
I have never tried a Buell either, but know a Thai guy who has one (a very compact bike for small bikers like me), and it seems quite fine.usual suspect wrote:Gerard..many years ago now I often got offered test-rides on Buells & never took them up..maybe I shoulda' done..? I wonder how they could manage such a low weight with so big an engine !
I had many opportunities to ride different types of Harleys, definitely not for me !
600 cc with about 200 kg and 100 hp is fine, but 1200cc (or more) with 350 kg and 60 hp...

I've not seen any Triumphs in Hua Hin but have seen the odd one purring about on my travels.stretch wrote:anyone riding triumphs

They are just way too expensive in Thailand which is a shame....
There was a nice Street Triple at the Hua Hin bike show last year owned by a Thai guy.. don't think I got a photo of that one.

Re: Harley dealers or bigger bike dealers
True the Buell is not 100% all Harley, but rather a Harley "V"-twin motor
But i asked for Harley or big bike shops as i have another 2 bikes that would need stuff from time to time.
2013 CVO Softail breakout & 2011 Road King as well. Was just not looking forward to riding back to BKK for services
all the time, plus the price they charge there. Can not wait until they open up the new outlet down south here.
I do however like the Buell & have owned a few now. Had XB9 that i found was a little small in power range for my style of
riding & what i wanted, so went up to a 2007 XB12, then went up more to a XB12s with a few extras thrown into it.
I like the torque range, the throaty roar from the "V"-twin & it has very good reliability since i have had it (touch wood)
The weight & centre of gravity due to the oil in the frame & weight of the motor centralized i find it handles real well.
Have owned a number of bikes, Ducatti's, Hyabusa, Triumphs, Suzuki's, Yamaha's etc & found the Buell XB12s to be my most favored so far as far as street bikes go.
Anyway thanks for some of the info from others
