When we were in Hua Hin in August, My son (who looks Thai) was picking up good quality shirts for around 200 to 250 baht (with his Thai sister doing most of the negotiating). A name on the back was costing 20 baht.
He was mainly using a sports shop (don't know the name) on Naeb Kehardt Road.
He bought a few 'low' quality shirts to give to mates in the UK at the market near the golf range for between 60 and 90 baht.

Mike has the price spot on. The difference is sometimes just a case of what the market will support. As your son looks Thai and speaks Thai then get him to go with a local lad, or lady, and haggle as low as possible.
Also you need to know the difference between good and bad replicas (some of which come from the factories that produce the "originals".
Whateve you pay anywher in Thailand for the real McCoy will be a fifth of what Juventus, Chelsea and Manu charge.

Footy shirts
The ones in the night market are not very good. There is a shop on a soi just after the shopping mall, a couple of doors down from the Ladyboy (Doi ?) cabaret that does cheap ones or slightly more expensive good quality ones.
It's over a year since I was there but a cheap England shirt was about 250 Baht but a perfect replica complete with hologram was about 500 Baht although I also bought 3 others for friends so did some haggling. The England shirt has been worn regularly and gets washed in our 'Atomic' laundry and is still as good as new.

I should have added, my son also uses a shop on the right hand side of Dechanuchit Road, a couple of shops before the road that leads to the Pier. It doesn't look like a sports shop, but there are usually a couple of shirts on display. If you ask, the guy inside will normally find what you want.
This shop seems to carry a small stock of shirts of varying qualities - but again my son has found shirts of almost perfect quality at prices well below what you guys are quoting for Hua Hin (albeit the ones with the hologram will usually cost about 50 Baht more). The better shirts here cost in the region of 300 Baht.
My son is a bit of football shirt anorak, possessing well over 250 (mostly original) shirts.

I know the shop you mean, they used to pull out cardboard boxes out when you asked for better quality ones.
To be honest these are what you would call mid-range shirts, they are not nearly of the quality of the shop by Doi Boy.
I bought some England Rugby shirts (genuine) in the Uk, went to his shop and got the same quality at a fraction of the UK price.
I bought one in Pattaya and only good for working under a tuk-tuk.
Mike.

Footy shirts
Yes Mike , I agree. The owner and his wife are very friendly and pleasant.
I didn't say that I have bought 3 Leeds shirts over the last 3 years, incl one for 100 Baht 'cos it was the previous seasons and I still wear them around the 'house'.
Last time I went he didn't have a Leeds shirt though 'cos he said they only stock Premier League teams for the UK. Ouch !!
