I drove to Makro at 09:15 this morning and it was nice to see the facelift Hua Hin was getting as a result. Lampposts were being painted as were kerb markings, flags/bunting being raised, grass verges and gardens being tidied/trimmed and already, people camping out to get the best positions.

I am very neutral on the Royalist angle, but it was lovely to see the income this was generating and the obvious pleasure it was bringing to the well wishers.

Mrs M got an email from Dusit Thani saying a special evening with one of the royals singing was planned to welcome them back. Tickets could be purchased with or without buffet

.....can confirm that - Mrs La Rue got the email also as we usually spend some days in Dusit Thani Hua Hin whenever in Thailand. Ït is my secret location for wind - down, total relax and treat ourselves with the private beach and their exellent food.

We are planning to go again week July 20th. We will miss out on the royal concert obviously, but I don't think we will be missed.
