Wet/Wild Weather

Post by PeteC »

We just got smacked hard over here (Tuesday 3/14 1700-1900 hours). Temp drop of at least 10 degrees F, about 3-4 inches of rain and wind strong enough to break tree branches. It is headed west guys, out over the Gulf...you may see some later tonight. Pete

Thanks Pete

We were hit this afternoon.

The town was like a river, i have never seen so much water like this for at least 4 years.

Still it has cleared the air.

How has the rest of the town fared?.

Mike.

well it's bleedin' cold over here in Farangland, with more snow forecast, but I don't suppose that helps too much with the local damage reports.

is this rain setting early or just something triggered by the heat the past few days?

It was reported a couple of days ago that we were going to get summer storms due to a cold front moving down from China.

You know what it is like, the chinese want to export everything.

I had to sit in Crawfords all afternoon as the water outside was nearly waist deep, or so the wife thinks.

Mike.

Should have cleared by Thursday then, I hope.

I just checked the satellite pictures and it looks as if the storm that hit Pattaya move up the coast to Big Mango. Probably something Mr T has arranged to dampen the protest march.

We had plenty of water here too!!!
It was pouring down and the water level was high for a while downtown.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

Oh the luxury of high speed internet! The last time I tried to pull down a Google map I simply walked away and finished the best part of a 6 pack and when I returned...I still didn't have a satellite image fully rendered. Pete

Has there been any flooding that compares to that of last November?

I remember 4 years ago when my parents came over in March. Town was seriously flooded for two weeks.
I'm no expert and others can put me right on this, but this town just cannot cope with that rainfall at high tide.
All the st** just comes downhill. At least that's my theory. Make sure you've got a place in higher ground.

The last time I was warm and dry was when I left HH on Nov. 31. It has been an incredible, cold, rainy winter in San Francisco. Snow just north of the City that caused a major accident & even snow last week in San Jose.

This sucks!!

Doesn't really fit with the song "California Dreaming", does it. "I'd be safe and warm, if I was in L.A."

Yes, it was my worst flood here in Hua Hin in the four years I've been here. Have had worse in Bangkok, though. I remember wading through wates that came to almost my waist there.

I promise you, four years ago was worse by a long way. Thing is it rained continually like yesterday for about 10 days. Imagine that.

Hi
Is Hua Hin raining and flood now? My friend told me that it is dried and no rain? How bad the rain is it? I remember last time I was there it was rain so much in July.
If it is raining alot I hope that my plants will well grow. No need to water and waste a tab water.
Anyhow like to read all about information from Hua Hin. I can not be back until October.
Keep talking about the town so I can know what 's news there.
How you like new shopping center? How the cineplex?
