I guess that this is another first for Thailand, or more likely the usual standard of misreporting:
16 hospitalised for factory carbon monoxide poisoning
http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general ... -poisoning
RAYONG -- Sixteen Myanmar migrant workers were hospitalised for carbon monoxide poisoning at a frozen-seafood factory in Muang district on Wednesday morning.
...................................Insee Kerdmanee, chief of Muang district, said the employees were working in the cold-storage area when loose plastic bags blew into the ventilation system, blocking the outtake vents. That blocked carbon monoxide expelled by the refrigeration system from escaping and caused the hazardous CO build-up.

Comment:
Carbon Monoxide is NOT used in refrigeration systems.(carbon DIOXIDE is). But MONOXIDE is sometimes used in the food packaging industry to preserve colour in meat and fish. However, it should only be as a small percentage of other gases.
