3/5 doors ??

Post by Kraka's Dad »

Not sure if this should be here or in travel.
Not a Thai thing at all but seems to be global.
Why is it that car manufactures insist on calling their products 3 or 5 door models when it is obvious they are 2 or 4 door. :?
Just who gets in and out of their car by the hactchback (the 3rd or 5th door ) ???? :?
In the general run of thing I would guess very few and then it would not be the norm.

Very Simple. 2 & 4 Door cars are normally classed as Sedan, Coupe or Convertibles and in most cases have boot lids as the rear.

3 & 5 door cars normally have a rear door that contains the rear window and the door normally lifts up to expose the luggage areas and are normally classed as hatchbacks or Wagons.
The rear door as it has a glass in it is normally considered as the 3rd or 5th door.

But the 3/5 door is not used as a door though so why call it one ??
You get in and out of cars through the doors but do you with the 3/5 ???? :?
