Teaching
I am not looking to come out until next June, but is that the best time to come out to teach?
I am also looking to take the TEFL course, again to start in June.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Simon

You could teach English, Accountancy and laundry all at the same time!
Seriously though, there are loads of laundry companies, typical charge is around 500 bt per month for one persons total laundry requirements.
Not sure if tefl is enough to teach at a university, someone will know.
I think that a good accountant would be demanded, but i think it may be hard for a westerner to practise here.
Interesting question youve asked, look forward to some more learned people answering.
All the best

Laundry?
I started this topic back when we needed teachers for our IELP program. We seem to be all set for next semester, but I continue to accept resumes and try to talk to anyone interested in teaching for us. Our program needs do change a lot from semester to semester.
We are a pre-University program and we typically hire people with BA degrees, TEFL training and some years of teaching experience ( all current staff have taught English for three to five years in Thailand or China)
We dont have anything to do with laundry though. . .other than our own (and with our own washing macine we spend nothing close to 500 baht!!)
And coming out is always a good thing. We do encourage it.
