Artistic Types?

Post by pinksquid »

I was not sure if this is where this post should go, but I could not figure where else it should be. :)

I dabble in the arts just a bit and wanted to know if there were any groups in Hua Hin (or the area) that get together to talk shop or pick a spot to practice (whether sitting to draw/paint what we see or take photographs or what have you)?

And if not if anyone would be interested in such a thing? I am heavily interested in photography, sculpture, drawing, painting, jewelry making (mostly bead work), sewing, doll making, and a few other things.

What do you do?
As of mid August I am on vacation via traveling around the globe and I am not returning until the end of November (I have no Internet access until I return). Have fun!

I snap the odd photo but to call me an artist would be pushing it ... unless of course it was a pi$$ artist.

Hi Pinksquid;

I know one artistic's shop called " Baan Sinrapin" (Artist's hous) on the road to Pala U water fall. If I am not wrong it is on the right side of the road if you go toward Pala U from Hua Hin. I believe it is after elephant's village. It is a beautiful stop over place for enjoy the arts pieces and enjoy the country side. Of course they want to sell you something also but I think you may get information about artistic's group or may be they can give an art class.

What kind of photography are you interested in? Do you shoot digital or film?

I take mostly travel photographs with a few portraits and glamour/fashion shots. I have only been working on this side of the camera for five years now, I am more used to doing a bit of alternative fashion/glamour modeling. But my husband is teaching me, he used to be pro until he retired from it.

Film or digital? What sorts of subjects do you like to take pictures of?

I am learning the guitar now, my husband is the real musician in my family. I also play the electric violin and am taking lessons in shamisen and koto.

Mostly digital these days, gave up on film years ago, it was a bit of a chore lugging everything around when travelling.

My latest batch are the jazz festival pics:

I was also caught up in the tsunami and got some images there. I will get round to filling up the HHAD photo gallery at some stage!

Is there really such a place-- that is really a great name! :bow: But no, I will assume it is a bar so it was not me-- I do not drink alcohol or go to bars. :D
