Lovers of 2 wheels in UK BEWARE

Post by H2ODunc »

have just been reading about the latest wheeze from his Tonyness and his power crazy cabinet. Trials are now being conducted on a system to stop moteocycles from speeding. A GPS box is fitted to the bike so it knows where you are and what the speed limit is for position. When you first exceed the limit the seat will vibrate ( I kid you not ) to let you know you have done so then the throttle is backed off after 3 seconds till your speed drops to or below the limit. During testing for Motorcycle news the tester described it as POTENTIONALY FATAL." Several times the throttle backed off whilst I was half way through a corner causing me to drift very wide. If I was on a public highway and there was on coming traffic it could be fatal."
It also has come out that great vehicle lover of ours in London Kenny boy (His holiness Mr Livingstone ) has been testing RFID chips to be placed on motorcycles for the collection of the congestion charge. It appears we are only exempt from this up to now because the camera system in use has trouble reading bike number plates hence the RFID's. We are now the most monitored people in the world with more Speed, Sorry safety cameras, numberplate recognition cameras and CCTV than anywhere in the world. What beats me is why do we put up with it? Answers on a post card.
Oh and if there are any Yanks out there laughing then a new law about to passed in the good old US of A will kill dead any modification to a motorcycle. Even putting on an aftermarket exhaust will be banned. An individual will be allowed to build 1 YES 1 modified motorcycle in his life. You have to give it to the Yanks when they do somethin they do it BIG STYLE. Thats it rant over . Feel better now just thought a few Bike heads over there would be interested ,Mines a Chang Cheers Dun c
