Just a note to advise those interested that Jinnings Guest House (at the end or the row of Guest Houses in the Soi prior to the Veranda Lodge) well and truly ripped TG & I off today.
Booked in from phone call when we were up north, told yes have room for length of stay required.
Was told late last week we had to move out of our room & to another "same size, same price" further upstairs as they had "other guests" for our room...
Showed us the other proposed room - far smaller & they refused to drop price nor allow another room for use.
Top it off, we returned this morning after the usual breakfast etc elsewhere - TG's gold necklace & Buddha amulet stolen from our locked room, where my girl placed it, inside a plastic bag and inside tv cabinet with other bags -(room safe wasn't working-at check in the staff just shrugged their shoulders & refused our request to secure our valuables).
Called the Police, a Sgt turned up followed by his boss & another chap who I guessed was the photographer/scenes of crime guy.
After a lot of talking senior officer said he couldn't do much..no evidence the chain had gone, even though I again stated the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Mangeress (the one with tattoo on neck) told us to hurry and move out as other guests waiting for our room.
Whilst packing, staff comes up to room and says boss wants 1/2 day room rate as we were overstaying! I wish I could speak fluent Thai. I told the TG what to tell the staff member what to do with their half room rate, we finished packing, and got out of there.
Will cut short trip to Hua Hin unless things improve since the last 2+ weeks we have been here - I'm no newby to Thailand but have been taken for a ride far too many times this trip south.
The most unfriendly, don't- give- a- toss- since- we- checked- in Guest House I have had the misfortune to stay at - ever.
Whoever is the owner/senior manager needs to give his/her staff a thorough shake up.

This really surprises me. I have stayed at Jinning's many times before I got my own house here in Hua Hin. The owners (a Danish/Thai couple) have always been very friendly and nice and the service has been good.
I hope this was a one-time mishap and that the staff responsible gets sacked accordingly.

The property company thread named personal names, company names and sums of money involved in a specific transaction that we could not verify. Rico,
stayed at jinning GH a few years ago after getting bored at Subhamitra as too far from beach.To the best of my knowledge it still has a danish owner with Thai wife or gf.His staff which were mostly her relatives were pretty useless,seemed always to be sleeping,day and night and really only surfaced to eat.However the problem with all those little hotels down there is that you can slip over the balconies not only from the hotel rooms but also from the guest house next door.All the poor quality semi steel and glass balcony doors never lock properly so once on the balcony they are in.All the buildings in that soi are virtually flat roofed so can almost walk along the whole soi on the rooftops.i used to sunbathe on the roof where there was once a bar and never found the access locked even at 3am.Check in at the hotel that faces all the bedrooms in the guest house,its great at 900 baht,even Pagey liked it.Rooms are twice the size,buy her a new bracelet and enjoy the rest of your holiday

Always used to stay at Jinnings when it was Seaview owned by swimming pool Gary.
After the change in management we still continued to stay there for a while until we and a couple we had introduced, were embassared by the new management demanding half a day room rent because we wanted to check out a couple of hours late after playing golf, guest house was nigh on empty at the time.
Never went back again.
