Does Celtic have a chance? Celtic's goalie seems to think so...

Artur Boruc has revealed a confidence inside Celtic that they could win the Champions League this season.

The Polish goalkeeper told The Herald: "Why can't we win it?

"Someone has to and who would have thought that Greece would have won the European Championships?

"You have to believe in yourself when you go in the pitch and that's what we will do. We know all about Milan but we will challenge them from the first whistle. There will be no fear because we have already shown we can compete with the best."

Of this week's clash at AC Milan, Boruc says: "For me, it is things as usual, it is a normal game.

"We have had to do our best against all the teams to get this far and this game will be no different.

"It is a huge game for everybody, the players as well, but we have to stay focused and not get overawed. I know all about the club's history and what this game means."

Celtic 0-0 AC Milan
Not good result because Milan take easy win second leg in Milano.
Blackburn Rovers, pride of East Lancashire.
Burnley never play Premierleague.

I would not bet money on that. Milan have lost at home three times already this season and have failed to beat any of the clubs above them. I reckon Celtic still have a good chance.

Milan are a mere shadow of the team that was playing 2 years ago.

I predicted 0-0 at home and 1-1 away and I'm sticking to that. Celtic to get through via away goals rule

Overall a poor game with both teams determined not to lose a goal.

Milan were by far the more quality team in their passing and movement but the Celtic midfield and defence were resolute and did not give much away. Both keepers had relatively little to do.

From my point of view I think we showed AC too much respect and failed to to take the game to them. Both of our wingers were nullified and our full backs' crossing was woeful, so little surprise we did not create many chances. That said, we did create the best chance of the game and Kenny Miller should have done a lot better (scored?).

Even the crowd was subdued by Parkhead standards.

Well we travel to Milan more in hope than in expectation. This will be our fourth trip to play Inter/AC in the Eurpean Cup and we have only lost once, so Jockey your prediction might just be spot on.

Back to the SPL..............

Jockey,

Was at the game with my brother Wullie and son Vincent - you met Vincent last year in Crawfords.

Got home to Coventry at 2.55 am so not too bad a drive.

Due to my financial commitments (nearly all in Thailand!) I won't be going to the San Siro. Going to get even worse when I move to Hua Hin - I think the 'bus' will have to leave on a Sunday for midweek games!!!!!

Cup game with ICT this weekend, so maybe Ken and I won't be speaking for a while ( probably a minute max).

Here's hoping for agreat game in Milan

I'll go along with that score too. Make sure you have a pack of adult size diapers available for the match in case Milan score first.

Well we gave it our best shot and we were not good enough.

Really proud of our young players and of course the Celtic support.

WGS got his tactics bang on, but a couple of our players never really got going and we desperately need a quality striker to feed off VOH.

Back to the domestic scene and onwards to the double.

Who knows what next season will bring.

Come on the Hoops!

Its sad, and I would have liked to have seen a fourth British team in the quarter finals.

At the end of the day, Celtic had their 5 minutes of glory against Manchester Utd, which must have been their equivalent of winning the competition. Unfortunately, class was always going to show and it's Manchester United, not Celtic who are still in the competition.

Here's hoping the remaining 3 British teams make it through to the semis.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 0 Hull City

Points 51; Position 21
Consolidated - Championship Next Season

We defeated Man U, Benfica and Copenhagen at home without losing a goal and drew with AC Milan and had a great game in Milan, so had a few 5mins of glory - yes class did show in the end with Kaka - just hope that AC have the opportunity to show likewise against at least 1 of the remaining English teams for the remainder of the tournament.

WGS has the basis of a good young team and we will be back next season stronger and better.

See you for a drink in Hua Hin for the final!

Two 0-0 draws against AC Milan with a loss in extra time is no disgrace to any team in the world. I only hope we can keep Artur Boruc who is one of the best keepers in the world. I agree Tam - lots of very young players can only be better for the experience - Strachan's doing a good job.

See Arsenal are out - (have they ever won it?) Have Chelsea for that matter!?
