Missing Maddie
Dear all,
I have seen somewhere before discussions regarding missing Maddie McAnn whilst on holiday in Portugal some quite negative against the parents but at the end of the day, this little 4year old has been taken - even the people living in Thailand must now have seen the huge response from people all around the world, all I ask is from being a parent myself and many of you expats also is to download the poster if you can and palce everywhere - who knows where the little girl is? website to download is findmaddie.com
We all need to pull together at times like this - not condem the parents for leaving her!!!

A regular thing in Thailand
My village in NE Thailand has lost several. Chinese gangs wanting their organs or if they are older-- prostitution
Fact of life. Been going on for years. can't stop it but keep the bairns safe and lock up
My family (sorry the wife's family ) are very protective and vigilant in terms of any undesirables wandering about
We as farangs think it's all 'safe and sound' but it's not. LOS is full of smiles but it's not
End of preach. (as a rookie of only 5 years)

Another post from me
I can remember the days when at 6 years old you could wander the streets go home at the end of the day to see 'mummy and Daddy'
No more. Getting old I fear but what is the globe coming to??????????????/

Richard,
I think your first post is a little OTT. Whilst I understand your sentiments entirely, 2 wrongs don't make a right. In such cases the parent must suffer severe heartache whether they are are Thai or English. Regardless of whether Maddie's parents were negligent or not, it was a very hard lesson, and I hope parents all over the world learn that lesson for the future.
All that Diana is trying to do is use the power of Internet to keep the publicity train running. Something I'm sure the parents of those poor Thai children would have done as well - had they the means or the knowledge.
IMHO all decent people should join the fight against these perverts/savages if they have the opportunity.

LONDON (Reuters) - A Web site set up to help find a missing British four-year-old girl who disappeared from a holiday villa in Portugal 15 days ago has received more than 50 million hits, its operator said on Friday.
More than 7,500 people have left messages of support on the www.findmadeleine.com site and 55 million hits have been counted since its launch.
Thousands have downloaded appeal posters and forwarded an email chain letter started by Madeleine McCann's family. The little girl disappeared from her bedroom at a hotel resort in Portugal on May 3 as her parents dined nearby.
"It is booming," said Calum MacRae, director of Infohost, the Scottish IT company behind the site. "We didn't expect this number of people.
"We had 10 million hits between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday -- our server just gave up, but we resolved that within five minutes."
The website www.bringmadeleinehome.com was launched on May 9 and it changed to www.findmadeleine.com on Wednesday.
Messages of support from across Europe, the United States and Australia have been posted on the site.
"You are in my thoughts every day," wrote Heidi from Finland. "I pray that she will be found soon safe and well."
Debbie Bates, from Australia, wrote: "As a mother of two, I cannot imagine for a moment what you are going through."
Parents Kate and Gerry McCann are taking "immense strength" from the messages, said family member Michael Wright.
"Their purpose is to turn hope into action," he said on Thursday. "We want everyone to have an image of Madeleine in whatever country in Europe they visit."
A video appeal will be shown on Saturday at the English FA Cup final between Manchester United and Chelsea at London's Wembley Stadium.
Portuguese police say they have insufficient evidence to arrest anyone in the hunt for the girl.
On Thursday, police chief Olegario Sousa said officers did not have enough evidence to arrest the only formal suspect, a 33-year-old man who lives in the resort.

MADELEINE McCann was not kidnapped but died in her bedroom as a result of negligence or murder, it was claimed yesterday.
In a dramatic development, Portuguese detectives are to re-interview her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, together with six friends who dined together at a restaurant near the McCanns' holiday apartment on the night she disappeared, senior police sources were quoted as saying.

Who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed? - Hunter S Thompson
Can't speak for anyone else but i find all the speculation, media generated lies, double-lies possible-truths and maybe-definately-possibilities tiresome.
For sure we all want to see the wee soul alive and well but think this media circus isn't particularly wholesome.
I just trust the professionalism of the Portugese and UK law enforcement teams and judiciaries gets the right result. Even if the result is "we just don't know".

i to hope for a happy outcome, but being a realist , just can't see it being possible after that poor girl has been missing for such a long time.
i have to agree though gunner, the media has turned the whole situation into a bit of a circus with so much speculation.
Remember, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
