Visa run whats the latest info

Post by skippy »

Whats the latest on Visa runs.

I have a Non Immigrant "B", Multiple entry visa. This gives me 90 day stays.
My understanding is i have to do a visa run every 90days or can i just report to immigration here in HH.

If i need to do a visa run from HH what are my options.

I have read Ranong. I am looking for the most direct/easy. (Not most expensive)

The date at the latest is 5th June so i have a few weeks. This is the first one as i arrived in Thailand 8th of March 2007

Yes, you'll have do 90 day visa runs and Ranong's your closest point of exit. Each time you exit the country you'll get a further stay of 90 days. As the visa name suggests, you can do many as you want until the visa expires (if you time you're last run just before it does, you'll get a bonus 90 days).
If you make the journey by bus, check the departure time from HH. It used to be 8am (Phuket bus) which gives you time to make Imm. I've a feeling that they may have changed the schedule and it could be 11am now. If so, you're highly unlikely to make it in time. Imm will not stamp you out after 4.30pm as the border's closed on the Burmese side. I could be wrong on the bus times though.
Lately, I've been taking the train to Chumphon, staying overnight there and getting a minibus to Ranong the next morning. Plenty of time then and you can travel back to HH that same day by bus.
