Playing against the worst team in the group, England still failed to show very much sparkle to convince anybody that they compete with the best.
Take off Beckham, and they didn't even look like scoring - without him it would have been another 'Get McLaren Out' night. Very lucky not to conceed a couple as well.
The sooner that imposter McLaren walks, the better.
