Hi Guys
Can anyone help me out with a ball park figure for building ( Labour only ) a long wall 2.5m high . It will need a concrete base and supporting pilings.
I could do with an approximate cost per Metre if possible.
Thanks
Stu
Labor costs
labour will cost you between 250-350 baht per day per person.
250 being the guy that lays the blocks, knocks up, digs holes etc. and 350 being the guy that has a few specialities.
500 per day will get you a foreman who will be able to do pretty much anything.

Barry is getting much closer to reality now and bear in mind small jobs are always much more than large jobs (forgive the innuendo).
The most important fact here is the length of the wall. Wages quoted are about correct but a little on the high side but the rising price of gas has put everything up in the last six months.
If the wall is long enough it is worth getting a digger to prepare the foundations. This is the large unknown factor. When the site id prepared the three guys, laborer 250 BHT, bricklayer 300 BHT and foreman 500 BHT are about right. These guys will be able to construct two to three 2.5 meter sections in one day if you are there watching them. When you are not there they can only just manage one section per day if you are lucky.
The second variable is ready made posts vs made on site posts. The workers will always tell you that it is cheaper to make your own. You need to work it out for yourself. If the workers do it the money goes to them, if the builder's merchant supplies them the money goes to the merchant.
To summarize: with the information you now have you can work out for yourself how to go about the job.
One question I have is why do you want to build yet another ugly concrete and breeze block wall. What purpose do they serve. If you want to mark you territory and find urination does not work for you then how about planting some trees and shrubs.
