Architects

Does anyone know of an Architect who can make up house plans from my own design, speaks reasonable English and is reasonably priced. Based in Hua Hin or Cha Am :?

I know one who lives in Wales, and HH part of the year. Also, speaks reasonable English for a Welshman, I guess? :P I'll let him reply if interested. Pete

Thanks for the recommendation Pete but I think I'll pass. Too much going on here where I understand the rules....

Cargill - if you just want someone to 'make up house plans' to your own designs you don't need an architect, you just need a draughtsman or a CAD technician. If the proposed building is to be constructed with a reinforced concrete frame you also need an engineer to design and provide calculations for the frame and its reinforcement.

Good luck in your venture.

hua hin municipal office carpark.thats the one on the corner of petchasem road and the road that goes to burger king (ummmm).

in the carpark at the back there is a small office where they will do for you.they also do the sign painting and gardening there, the office looks like a house but everyone wears yellow shirts.

will charge between 15,000 and 20,000 depending on size and complexity.
they usually have to have 2 or 3 goes at it before they get it right so be patient.check everything before you give floor plan to them, must have room sizes, door size, frames, toilets sinks etc. take a coopy of channote with you so they are able to put the house on the plot you have.
good luck :thumb:

course if you have no idea what you are doing then i recommend you use a proper company. who will charge you more but would survey the land, recommend the type of foundations necessary, position your property on the plot best to optimise sun, wind etc.and also sugest minor beneficial changes to your design which you as an individual may not be able to see.

Definately do not use 'Back Up Design' (feel another lawsuit coming on Buksi :D ), totally over-designed structural details for my mate, when we challenged them to see their design calcs, turned out they had none and that the structural 'engineer' was a 20 year old girl. She just over-designed everything to play safe.

Sorry I can't help suggest a good one in Hua Hin.

Do not know anything about them, but in the same building as TT&T, opposite the school next to Market Village, there is an office wherein they claim to be able to do what you are asking. Burger, any comments about them?

No sorry, I don't know them, was just advising against the above as they are good CAD operators but not engineers.
