Irish Pub

Post by woodman2 »

I hear that the bar called the Irish Pub at the corner of Selakam and Poolsuk is closed or closing and will reopen as a coffee shop.

The name Irish Pub wil transfer to a new venue.

Anybody heard if this is true?

It is open at the moment, had a drink with the owner last night and he never mentioned anything.

I blieve the building has been bought by a new owner, who I believe want to do their own thing.

The tenant who runs the Irish Pub is currently fighting an eviction.

Last night was the Dubliner's closing bash - the bar is officially closed from today.

Real shame, Eddie's been there for years in one form or another and has been fortunate to retain some really good and loyal staff.

Was in there late on last night and it's a real shame I was that cabbaged I can't even remember much about it...

Good luck to the staff and all others concerned with the place.

The way the rents and tea money are going up in the area, I wouldn't be surprised if it was full of taylor shops and opticians.

It’s a shame the Dubliner has gone, I used to pop in there sometimes as we’ve known some of the staff for a while and it was always good for a last drink later on. I hope they manage to find new jobs somewhere.

Once again thanks for all the kind words. The ship/Dubliner bar has sold its last beer, the reason being was that we were fighting 3 legal cases over ownership. It could have gone on for years but myself or my wife dont want the hassle so we settled 2 cases last week in our favor.
We were going to move to a new location but I think there are now too many barsin HH and the trade is changing so we have to adapt.I have not had time to be there for the past 2 years(maybe good for business!) because I have had a small project called el Murphy's.
We are starting building work at el Murphy's this week to cater for something new for hh while keeping and improving our menu, but bringing the homlynees or holyness of the irish pub to murf's which is something that has been lacking there for the past few years.
All our main staff form the irish pub are moving there in the next 2 weeks(nid<Yai,noi, ned, oay, mem, nuan ,my pool table and I'll find the dart borard somewhere).
Once again I would like to thank everyone who has wrote great things in this forum about us and those people who bought those millons of beers in the ship bar.
Looking forward to seeing you at the opening of the new el Murphy's.

I drink because I'm thirsty.

MURF....you just keep serving the best slab of rump steak in HH at El Murphys and I will keep eating it.....it really is the best in town.....a bigger pot o pepper sauce and browner chips would be good tho!

El Murphys is the only place for a steak as far as Im concerned - good meat, well cooked and good prices.......(more sauce and browner chips .....)

Good luck mate

El Murphy's, they have basically moved lock stock and barrel, nice bar with draught beer's.

Agree with the steak, good belly full.

Beerbelly, if you had care to read some of the earlier posts you would have seen that the manager of El Murphys explained exactly what you have just said about 4 posts before.
Is better you read the earlier posts and then there is no need to repeat the information and waste everbodys time

Condolences on the loss of The Ship / Dubliners. I can't remember how many times I've drown myself in that wonderful place. Hope El Murphy's continues to do well!
