Sonthi orders probe into Bt60 million cash from Hong Kong
Deputy Prime Minister Sonthi Boonyaratglin Tuesday ordered a full investigation into the Bt60 million in cash carried into the country by six Hong Kong businessmen on suspicion that the funds were meant to finance campaign activities.
Sonthi assigned the Anti Money Laundering Office and the Immigration Bureau to be responsible for the probe.
"The investigation should be able to answer about any linkage to the campaigning," he said.
Should the campaign linkage be established, the case will be forwarded to the Election Commission to take appropriate action, he said.
He refused to speculate about the possible involvement of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra who was in Hong Kong for a meeting last week when the cash was uncovered.

Thats responsible of him to order a probe when there are existing probes out on him, the legitimacy of his funds, and his multiple wives.

PM's minister: I have proof of voting money
Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office Thirapat Serirangsan claims to have solid evidence to prove that 60 million baht in cash, which authorities believe will be used in the election, had made its way into Thailand from Hong Kong.
“The immigration bureau is now on the case. We know roughly that the money was brought in by about 6-7 people in Hong Kong dollars. If the money was for a business investment, the first question to ask is why the money needs to be brought into the country in this way. The next question is, how will the money be spent?â€
