Chinese New Year...

Feb 18 and I will be in HH, What can I expect.. I have been to Chinese New Year in San Francico (too many times) Bangkok, Phuket, suring(no to o much even thought that is the Chinses capital of Issan) ..

What are the festivities etc?

I was noted to that date as per the info on the events page?

Is it possible that Chinese New Year might be like Songkran and be celebrated a few days different in some places in Thailand?

Hi there HHHound

I you go to Yaowarat/ China Town in Bangkok They Celebrate it auspiciously with a big fanfare, mass of food stalls, Dragon shows ect. in Hua Hin it's more subtle Prayers will be held @ the San Jao/Chinese shrine near the Hilton Hotel and firecrackers will be fired spoardically when the celebrating family is is from Chinese decent

The other gent suggested a differnt date that HHAD lists, can anyone help as I will plan on the celebration, if it is on the 18th as listed by HHAD!

You are looking at the 2007 page, you can tell this as it says "Hua Hin Holidays and Events 2007" in large letters at the top of the page.
