Visa Info-Urgent
For anyone interested about my trip to Melbourne yesterday to the Thai Consulate the outcome is:
In several days my passport will be posted back to me with a 6 month visa of which I can only use 90 days of it and the 90 days start when I arrive in Thailand.
I asked lots of questions and they kepy saying that you must apply 90 days before you leave Australia but I think they mean can instead of must.
When I said but what happens if my flight is held up and I arrive late .
Then the penny seemed to drop and that is how they are giving me a 6 month visa.
Utter confusion on rules and regulations they need someone to draw up a set of rules that all Consulates and Embassies have and abide by.
From what you guys that have lived in different states of Australia say not one rule matches the other one over here.
Sorry for any confusion but I called it as it was written from the Thai consulate in Melbourne.

Buksida,
Would it not make sense to move it to the relevant thread? Otherwise you will have one incomplete thread, and one confused thread ........................ forget it - whats new
edit: Rosie & I crossed posts as she was sorting it herself, by addinga post in the correct thread - sorted (well, just left with a confused thread).

Buksida - I was watching one of those 'Top 100' things on the box here last night. Top so many blockbuster movies
Lord of the Rings got number one place - with Star Wars close behind. Unfortunately I can no longer watch a clip of Darth without hearing Eddie Izzard now!
And BTW, how is it there is never any mention these days of the first attempt to make the Lord of the Rings movie. OK - it was before they had the benefit of decent special FX, and it was a total box office flop, but no one seems to remember it!

This is the way
The cartoon version with groundbreaking graphics for the time was never finished as the director did not get funding approval .Somebody died along the way as I recall but it was not Ralph who continued to make animated features including fire and ice, cool world etc.
Bit distracted at the moment as expatkat is chasing animals around the garden trying to explain to them that their feelings of self-criticism are due to the conjunction of mars and the moon/venus .
At least she has not turned me into a newt .
