Just found the best Indian restaurant in Hua Hin

Post by SuperTonic »

Well bugger me.. I've been looking around for a good Indian curry for the last year or so, trying Maharaja and Taj Mahal (both frankly awful) and Take 5 (not bad, but not quite right and bloody expensive) but finally I've found a perfect Indian Madras, that tastes just like the ones I had in my favourite local Indian restaurant (and trust me these guys were good). Big succulent pieces of chicken in the most delicious sauce I've had in yonks. I've missed it.

Where is it? Well.. If you go along poonsuk road from beach road end you've got bintabaht and selakem on the right and keep going to the end. Over the road, just a tiny little bit to the left, you've got a small narrow road, and a few shops in, on your left, is the place.. the Indian Hut or something like that. Seriously, the holy grail of a really perfect Indian curry is finally here!

Great news, the three current ones you mentioned are pretty substandard in my opinion so I'll definitely give this one a go.

Usually resort to cooking my own and just finished off the last of the vindaloo this evening.

Sounds great - but can I check your directions? Do you go past O'neils on the left, London Bar on the right, carry on past the little cross roads where the ship used to be and its a few shops down the road from there? Please tell me - my tastebuds are tormenting me! :P

How long have you had a bar round the corner JW ? Very surprised you of all people don't know the place .Just inside the road Top Marks is on coming from your end on the left . It used to be VERY basic but has had a little revamp a few months ago .

Enjoy

One dodgy map drawn in paint. Apologies for crapness of map but I'm in the middle of reinstalling things on here and MS Paint is all I have to hand. I can confirm you go past with O'Neills on the left, going straight ahead and keep going til you hit the bigger road, over it, look for the little soi and down you go.

PS I suck at drawing maps.

Indian Hut or something along those lines. Just keep an eye out on the left a few shops in if you're coming from Binta side.

To be honest I didn't even know it was there. I just found it by accident really. Hua Hin has so many little sois that you wouldn't even know existed and often turn up something really useful.

Thats where I used to go. Its not as authentic as the real thing but its damned good. You ask for 'Gang geeawan guy' well thats as near as I can get to it. Have it with some garlic bread. Its really nice... :D
