Housing insulation

to keep the heat out.
have a white roof, plenty of vents. as the heat builds it will be pushed out through the vents as hot air rises. build two good quality bricks thick with a cavity. if you want insulate the cavity but no need.

MIKED
Exactly as you said no need for insulation, you agreed with me. So my question why do you need insulation still stands.

as mike says it keeps the heat out

normally for roofs here its thin aluminium foil type, fixed on the underside of the roof trusses with an air gap between foil and roof tile
quite cheap

walls some people go for cavity walls some the white 'superblocs'

lindosfan, If you dont have AC, I agree with you..a waste of money insulating. But roofing insulation will definately impact your electric bill if you are running an AC unit.

I lived in the high desert for 20 years. With temps hitting 120 degrees Believe me insulation makes a big difference in keeping the house cool.

I would try the spray foam if it can be found here. Seems I saw some houses being built in the Pattaya area using that.

You can add a couple of vent fans in the attic to blow out the excess hot air. they can be set to go on automatically when it hits a certain temp.

If you really didn't want to know the answer, why the hell did you ask me the question!!!

You can insulate a house against heat loss by having the windows double-glazed.

lindosfan, what is the point of your argument?? Its a substance used to reduce the amount of heat that passes through your roof....call it what ever you want.. when you come up with a new name for it please let us all know, and maybe let the material suppliers in HH know too.

complete waste of time....

Thanks for the input/output as my brain has gone into some sort of latent heat carnot cycle hiatus come meltdown.
