Monthly Income v Deposit

Post by FishBoy »

What if it is a joint account can one person claim the 800K and the other use the deposits. There will be both levels made and not the combo route taken to meet the amounts? Any experience with this issue?

If it is a joint account then you need 2 x 800k to satisfy requirements

If your spouse is western and you personally show the 800k for 3 months before application, your spouse can piggyback on your savings to get an extension herself/himself. They will be classified as a dependent. The spouse must have a Non Imm O visa. Thats all.
The government tried to change this earlier in the year - to 1.6 million for two people - but there was such a fuss from retired western couples that the idea was scrapped.
Maybe change from a joint account to a personal one?

That's a pretty shocking suggestion, lomu, the authorities responding to complaints from foreigners  - are you sure it wasn't yet another rumour that never actually came to fruition?
This is the way
