Window bars

Post by terry+carmen »

We have just arrived, been planning this for a while.

First a big thank you to everyone for advice and tips.

at the moment we are looking for someone to install bars on our windows and doors. Having a problem keeping my husband in and maybe burglars out.

The shop on Naebkhehars Rd, just north of Chomsin, next to the library is as good as any. The young chap that runs it speaks English and he will come and measure up the job.

Rob - how many windows did you do and how much did you pay?
I'll measure one window and get a price, then I can sort of calculate how much I need for all the windows plus the door. Will move into the place next month, then I'll ask a guy to have a looksee.
If I keep all my valuables in one room upstairs which has two locks, that may be a better idea than these "prison-style" metal fences inside of every window...

BTW, make sure the fabricator does the measuring.
Don't assume that because the windows were made by the same shop that they are all 100% the same dimensions. I had few windows exactly the same and 1/8" can be the difference between the frame fitting or not.

im guessing but probably 26 windows and 6 doors all with screens , cost about 77.5K.
they came with a large book of designs to choose from and actually made the bathroom ones (4 off) twice as i did not like how they did the first ones, he made new ones which are better than my design i did on the fag box.
pleased with them and it seems around the market price.
