COME ON YOU TYKES

Post by richard »

Hi guys

Had a fish and chip (with mushies) at the place recommended near the railway line. Excellent and run by Richard who had the place down near the Hilton

Whilst there I got into a conversation with Richard, who I've know 5 or 6 years, and Hhtel

We are all Yorkshiremen so I thought

Hey Mags and Billy are back in October, how about a fish chip reunion??????

Talked it over with HHtel and Richard and they thought it great idea

Normally I'm not a reunion type of guy and shun the societies (Scottish, Irish, Welsh or English) forms but it seems like a good one off idea.

I've always maintained that I came to Thailand to embrace Thailand and not expats which is why I do not frequent farang watering holes very much. Nice to keep a balance

Good fish and chips and a nostalgic trip to the past. Only a one off I think but bear it in mind

Tykes and non tykes are welcome (even Lancastrians. We promise not to throw bricks !!!!!!! )

I will need to get back to Richard with a date so that he's got enough cod, haddock, mushies and curry sauce in stock

Any buyers??????????????????????

Maggie and Billy, I think the key date is driven by you

Not sure if Rod will be around. He's off back to OZ on another 3 month contract soon, but we'll have a beer wherever when you come

Come On You Tykes

Post by margaretcarnes »

Hi Richard, landing 14th Oct so give us a few days to get acclimatised - but sounds like a great idea. (Probably better fish than I'm getting in Hull at the mo. It seems scarce!)
Look forward to seeing all tykes - and hopefully Willo. Let Joyce know as well will ya? She's to be found at the old Bamboo Grove from this week apparently, but I'll be giving her a bell soon.

Well, I had to look it up...

Understanding the Janner can be difficult as speech is delivered at a fast pace with little or no gaps between words. This can become more confusing if the Janner is annoyed in any way. If his pint is spilt or you look at his girlfriends breasts in a leering manner, the Janner will inform you of this by saying, "Ere, you spilt ma pint, ya cont" and "Ere, you looking at ma berrds tats ya twaat?" At this point it would probably be best to leave jesters and at no time should you try to talk your way out of the situation, as the Janner will probably think your being clever, trying to confuse him/her with long words. If the Janner is standing with his legs slightly apart, fists clenched, arms slightly away from his/her sides with head tilted back and chest puffed up, then the situation has already gone to far and you are probably about to get a "Schmakk in the fehce" meaning "a blow to the facial area".

Of course, these are nothing more than racist slurs! :lach:

Sorry, BB, found it and couldn't resist...

BB as a proper Janner do e knaw the Blackbird Song, and eat Ivor Dewdney pasties, better than the Cornish ones.
