Beach Restaurant Experience - Kao Takiab

Post by MrPlum »

Sat down to eat, yesterday, at a Thai restaurant on Kao Takiab beach. It's located, (looking at the beach), to the right of the Blue Wave hotel, by the next access road. There is parking, only for those who are eating.

G/f and I had Thai dishes that off the beach might cost 300 THB. Our bill? 620. While a premium is to be expected, I thought it a bit steep, especially when the place was just a shack. The staff 'miscalculated', adding 50 baht, which they refunded.

4 hungry cats wouldn't leave us alone. Food wasn't bad and serving sizes good, so, scraps for the cats.

We could have moved but once you are sat down and the car parked, it's easier to stay.

Better value, ambiance and quality, elsewhere.

most of those places are now well overpriced around that area.
Thai logic, "no customers, low season, put the prices up"

same as most farang bars here too.

Try going north past the regent hotel, take u turn before ppt petrol pump first turning goes down to the beach, lovely setting, seafood restaurants on the beach, couple of bars. can get good seafood for 2 people and a drink for under 400 baht.

Think its on a cha ams secrets.
