The population is getting older in Thailand

When will someone start building up retirement homes for the elderly? Would that be a business idea for the future?

Cool! Nursing homes Thai style! There will be waiting lists next.
Joking aside, sounds like the stories we had back home some years back.
Back to joking, maybe 'Scooter Boy' will at last have to find a job, rather than just being a waste of space all the time.
How true SM67, how true.

I hope you're not including any of us on this forum in that statement SJ.Super Joe wrote:I wonder how much the recent influx of ancient farangs retiring in Hua Hin made on that![]()

I could not see retirement homes working for Thais. I have seen a few cases of very rich Thais who can not get their elderly rich relatives out of their sheds into brand new houses. I think the birth place has far more importance in East Asian cultures than in the west. Retirement homes would be seen as glorified hospitals where the are sent to die by many Thais.
Now, a retirement home for farangs with the nurses and all the extras. Instant success IMHO especially if you could get it recognised by immigration.
