Haven't seen one for Donkeys years - and that's in UK

I used to live near Bassetts in Sheffield and the ladies who woked there could buy the 'mishapes' very cheap ....big bags of Jelly Babies, wine gums, potefract cakes, liqourice allsorts & dolly mixture just to mention a few.

Not quite the same i admit as a good old shop with big jars and big old scales selling by the ounce and putting them in little funnel shaped bags.

Is sherbert and liqourice the stuff that came in the cream/yellow cardboardy tube where you snorted (whatever took your fancy) the sherbert via the the liqourice tube - that had a hole through the whole length?

Yeah, that was good.

Probably banned on health grounds now, but boy, did it give a buzz! :D

I've often thought those into cocaine are really just reliving their childhood!!

Caller, I remember those, it was a Sherbet Fountain, if you sucked it the wrong way it got into your lungs and made you bubble at the nose!
Amazingly you can still buy them:http://www.sweetsncandy.co.uk/proddetai ... =SHEFOU048

JUBBLIES, oh my God, that's a memory from the dim and distant past.

I had a pineapple chunk recently (thanks VS), I mean a real sweety version, and was sadly disappointed...

The other night we were drinking shots of caramel vodka (don’t ask, I have some strange friends,) and I was instantly reminded of Caramac bars.http://www.aquarterof.co.uk/caramac-p-386.html

Does anyone remember sweet tobacco? Whenever I mention it, I'm met with blank stares. It looked like tobacco (ie brown & shredded) & was a sweet. Not to be confused with those sweet cigarettes. Bet those don't get sold anymore...

STEVE Surely that should be on night crawlers.

If people remember Jubblies maybe you can also remember the Jungle Juice. It some other fruit flavors in it but otherwise the same.

Luvvly Jubbly.

Sweet tobacco made from coconut. That was a must for me with sweet prawns, sweet bananas, flying saucers and lemonade powder. I like boiled sweets but they played havoc with my teeth.

A more civilized way of eating sherbert for me was the dipper with a fruit flavored lollipop. Bad for my teeth though.

When I was last in England some of these things had com#me back in Asian corner stores and large High Street stores where they were sold in plastic boxes with stainless spoons. Of course it was pounds than rather then pence.
