yum. pizza and food from italy. pizza ,for tailand, is excellent. crust crusty and sauce tasty. 90 baht for cheese pizza. had pasta with meat sauce. perfect sauce, not to thin or thick, nice taste. wife's sister went and had big fish which they raved about. chef from italy. problem. some of menu is in italian. 5 pasta dishes and could not figure out what they were. 2 americans sitting close by, 1 a italian from new york, also had no idea. chef came out and with much hand waving i got the red sauce with meat. thai waiter has no idea as to menu and as a result takes to long to get orders. 2 people left after waiting awhile. guy needs staff that understands english big time. place was packed. on road to palau. pass time saver and look to right.
Another very good restaurant in Nong Plub Road.
I have eaten there three times and the food has been excellent and perhaps less than half the price of the competitors near the Hilton. Friends have also been and rate it highly.

Well. Tried the Pizza with a Caesar Salad and a just-in-case portion of French Fries. Verdict from Thai g/f and daughter both excited to try Pizza for the first time... tasteless. G/f was sick when we got home. Verdict from me? Unfortunately, the same as the others... tasteless.
Since I have rarely eaten 'falang' food in the last 3 years, I guess my taste buds have changed and no, I haven't 'ruined' them by scoffing chillies.
I asked the owner about Menus, he said they have English, Thai and Italian.
Popular place so they won't miss my custom.

I think that it's a tad unfair to report the comments of someone who doesn't know what a pizza should taste like. If she's not used to dairy products (cheese), then I'm not surprised that she was sick. Thais tend to have an intolerance for dairy food. Of course it was 'tasteless', unless she covered it with ketchup and chillies. Been there, done that. Invited students round to eat farang food, provide them with a bottle of ketchup and a bowl of chillies they're happy.MrPlum wrote:Well. I do feel sorry for any restaurant that's mentioned on this site - for every satisfied customer you get a bundle of complaints.
But, hey, I guess they'll get customers coming just to find out if it really is that bad/good.

Absolutely, the same goes with most aspects of life - its far easier (and more befitting to human nature) to complain than to compliment.Vital Spark wrote: I do feel sorry for any restaurant that's mentioned on this site - for every satisfied customer you get a bundle of complaints.
Nothing is tasty to Thais unless there is fish sauce on it! I can vouch for that - no more cooking from chef Buksi.

I find that a curious statement. Are you sure? Had someone warned me previously I could have saved myself a wasted trip and a poor experience.Vital Spark wrote: I think that it's a tad unfair to report the comments of someone who doesn't know what a pizza should taste like.

Many men have Thai partners. Many people have Thai friends. Are you happy to see them go to a restaurant where they may not enjoy the food?
Is it fair to assume that everyone knows that Thais find Pizza tasteless just because you do? Not everyone has spent so long in LOS that they will know this. The owner, a nice chap, does. We discussed it.
I'm not so concerned about negative reviews. You can usually spot the misery-guts and I'm not so sheep-like that I can't exercise discernment. Nor is complaining my 'nature'.

Here's what I said...
1. Thais don't like Pizza
2. If you have been in the LOS for any length of time and not eaten 'falang' food, your tastes may have changed
3. Menus are available in other languages.
4. The restaurant is conveniently located
5. Neighbours rate the food highly.
6. There is a possibility (cover your eyes now) that, the food I selected was, in fact, tasteless. (ok. You can open your eyes again

Had I really been minded to complain, I would have mentioned that the bread was not fresh... the road noise and pollution was off-putting.... the other tables were offered black pepper yet we were not and the top of the tomato ketchup bottle needed the 'build-up' cleaning off, a common problem as any 'Daddies Sauce' fan will attest to.
My crimes of observation aside, I would certainly recommend that people try it.

Isn't this rather insulting to Thais?nevets wrote:The same from me , Thai people will allways put 2 big spoons of chili an 1 of suger to spoil any food .
Pizza?
Thais dont like Pizza?
Last night at Pizza Company, the place was packed the entire time I was there. . 90% Thai.
I used to have several pizzas delivered to my classroom every week and there was never anything left over!
I still like the Pizza Corner for what I consider the best pizza in town, though their prices have gone through the roof of late.
