Another HH-referenced reader's submission on Stickman...

Post by VincentD »

Wonder if there's any truth to the article?

Could well be but this could happen anywhere in Thailand, not just HH.

Does anyone else think that all of Stickman's 'contributions' sound like Stickman wrote them?

Dawn, he writes his weekly column, and has admitted in the past to writing an odd one or two pieces, but the rest are individual submissions.

I've met the man himself, and many of the contributors. Many have become good friends, and we do organise the odd tipple or two when in town.

This article is most certainly true - I knew the girl and can confirm that she did die from AIDS last year.

Sorry, you misunderstand. I never meant to imply they weren't true. I mean the language & cadence is always the same. You look at two posters here & you'll see dissimilarities. IMO, he rewrites his contributions, himself

There are almost 4,600 readers' submissions on the website and 2 or 3 new stories are published each week. There's a minimum length of 800 words per story with the average submission probably around 1,500 words. Some are over 10,000 words and there are a few much longer than that even.

I struggle to put together my weekly column which is 6,000 - 7,000 words and published once a week. I can assure you that the stories are written by readers and not me.

OK, I have one pen name I use for slightly spicier stories that I do not want to publish under the Stickman name, but that is only a handful of stories in 7 years.

We have had Stickman get togethers where 30 - 40 authors have got together.

To wrote 4,600 stories would take some sort of super human effort!
