Take a pat on the back guys

I only come to Thailandfor a holiday and when I read some of the postings on this site it is hard to imagine what sort of people you are that have set up your homes in Hua Hin. This thread has told me a lot about you and although you sometimes try to come across as flippant (and arrogant sometimes) ...

How long is the walk?

From the Hilton to the headland? is it possible to walk around the headland to the other side? possibly a silly question if tide is a factor.

Taxi to Evason

Firstly I would have thought that if you could afford the Evason and are looking for that sort of quality then a few baht extra for a taxi would not be a problem. No hassle, comfort and convenient. Note though that most taxi's charge more for the Evason because of the distance from Hua Hin (I believ...

Construction

After the recent posts on this subject I can see a mad rush from tourists to cancel Hua Hin bookings and look at somewhere else. Is it really that bad? I have booked the Marriot for November/December time is it just as bad out there? the last thing I need on holiday is listening to jack hammers goin...

Hua Hin busier?

Has the tsunami affected the tourist trade in Hua Hin and are more tourists booking as an alternative to the previously more popular southern resorts. Hope not it could spoil it.

Restaurants in the square

The first time we went to Hua Hin we were not very brave in the eating dept and tended to eat in the hotels. We did wander round the restaurants in the the square in the centre and were tempted, but they did not seem to be very busy. I have searched this forum and no one seems to mention them at all...

thanks

thanks for the replies sounds ideal for a first night in BK. It was a toss up between the Silom village and Cabbages and Condoms. Silom Village on the way out and Cabbages on the way home. Sounds good.

Bangkok

Will be staying in BK for a couple of nights before Hua Hin and we have been recommended to go to Silom Village. Has anyone eaten there? is it ok? is it one restaurant or a group? will I need to book? I guess it will be touristy but thats what I am. Any comments appreciated.
