Re: Persistent "canker sores"

MajorBloodnok - A relative of mine would get sores/lesions in his mouth when eating fresh pineapple. He never touches it now, but who would have thought?

Good to hear all is well with you.

Re: Local interior designer wanted

Stevieboy - Initially, the team from Oriental Living came to our villa, we spent a few hours discussing our likes and dislikes, looked at some catalogues, picked various pieces of furniture that we liked, they went away and produced a colour computer generated image of each room fully furnished, ver...

Re: Local interior designer wanted

As posted recently, we used 'Oriental Living' almost exclusively for the interior of our villa (hard and soft furnishings), and were delighted with the finished result. Great communication throughout, they listened to my opinion, gave theirs when they thought I was wrong, and the ideas I conceded on...

Re: The Retreat - From Lifestyle Homes

In Feng Shui terms, I think if the water is flowing towards the house it means you will have a life of wealth and abundance - so no problem with the villa price, then. :-) Reminds me of a former boss in SEA who employed the services of a Feng Shui master for her office. How we all rolled our eyes! G...

Re: Rig work boots

Rrikzee - I think you are absolutely right - boots and coveralls have been shipped to many parts of the world, much to my Mum's chagrin. My Dad is a lovely, generous guy and he would give you a pair of his 'acquired over the years' size 8 boots for the price of a pint and a chat anytime. However, hi...

Re: Rig work boots

I felt the need to respond to this post, only because it reminds me of my darling Dad who has worked offshore for a 'million' years, and oh my God he swears by his Red Wings. Nothing else will do! He has a stock in his cupboard that would fit out the whole of the North Sea Rigs, plus SEA, and more! ...

Re: Best Hospital in HH?

For the women readers and members of this forum, I can personally recommend Dr Tongta Ujjin who is a gynaecologist at Bangkok Hospital, HH. An experienced and professional lady with a gentle touch and manner to match.

Re: Upholstery fabric

Yes, I understand. As a guide: for our sofas I chose a 'thick corduroy' design. It looks great and is hard wearing, with lots of colours to choose from. Sorry, don't remember the exact material composition.

Re: Upholstery fabric

I recommend you try 'Oriental Living' - located on Petchkasem Rd, driving out of town, beyond the traffic signal after the Palace. We used them almost exclusively for the interior of our villa, which included sofas, and were very happy with the results. Professionals who know what they are talking a...

Re: e-books and e-book reader

DM - We effectively only use our Kindle Fires for reading books. We probably do under-use them given that it is a Tablet, although sometimes log onto the Internet if we're in a wi-fi zone when out as the small size means it's always in my handbag. Bought in a Virgin store in the ME. We both have iPa...

Re: e-books and e-book reader

Would like to give my vote for the Kindle Fire. Purchased 1 year ago and having just checked my Amazon library, have read 49 books in that time. I love the ease of selecting and buying my books from Amazon with basically one-click and being downloaded to my Kindle in around 2 mins. It's a treat to b...

Internet and Cable TV Provider

We will be in Hua Hin next month to hopefully organise all connections in our new villa. Is TOT the only internet and cable TV provider? Would be interested to know about other options, if any.

Thank you for your help.
