I'm starting this to help me in a heated discussion I'm having over this side of the Gulf concerning the favourite of expats here. Any and all opinions welcome. Pete

True, but a little in my opinion enhances, not destroys the taste.

Good strong english mustard and some lightly fried onions and lashings of garlic butter. If it's old boot steak tons of Maggi will add some flavour

Hmm... yougouys make the niagra falls mouthwatering outside my moyth!.
I was used to in Germany we eat our Steaks well cooked then on Top of that a well balanced mixture of Herb Butter. The best Germanie manufactured one is "Meggle Kraeuterbutter" Yhe intense Herb flavors mixes in with the tender taste of the Charcoal Grilled Meat. Hmm.... Simply delicous.
If the the meat is in fact overcooked and you need to have a sauce to top it I'll recommend I a Savoury Papper Sauce would do it as well.!!!

heinz ketchup on practically anything, hp for a change, worcester sauce in tomato juice & english mustard & mint sauce with roasts too
as i don't eat red meat, i can't really advise on the best sauce with steak
