2 wrongs don't make a right and PAD are doing more damage to themselves and the country right now in the eyes of a neutral or someone who's 50/50, despite what damamge MR T has previously done.
Bet Mr T is sitting there pee'ing himself at them destroying their image and helping his. What is the latest, abducting policemen ?
I've never liked Mr T but I'd now chose him over this situation, worse of two evils etc.

Kelly, I fear they mean they are not yet cancelled. Some airlines are cancelling upto 3 days ahead, some just 1 day ahead. Keep checking the link below for future updates.

Exactly right SJ...

My opinion is that they should hold a referendum. One simple question. Do you the people of Thailand want the PAD to stand down. Yes/No...

Don't think the majority of Thais care. The sand is very deep here

All smiling faces this morning and the only people glued to tvs were farangs :)

I thought they were supposed to be ignoring overstay or out of date visas while this was going on.

One man showed me his passport this morning, 1,900 baht for a seven day extension, payed yesterday at Hua Hin Immigration. Same for his wife.

They should of flown home on Wednesday evening. Airline told them to stay put until they contacted them at their hotel. The hotel went with a copy of their passport to the police station, (as they have to do by law, every day), the policeman advised the hotel that the guests can't stay as their visa's are out of date, he told them that their guests will have to go to Immigration.

The hotel informed them of this and off to immigration they went, immigration told them they have to pay for a seven day extension each or they would not be able to stay at the hotel. This is the hotel the airline will be calling them when new flight details are sorted out. No choice but to cough up the money.

The Hotel in question is also charging them by the day for their stay at the high season day rate and not a continuation of the previously negotiated rate for the six week stay they originally agreed on, despite only being 40% full.

I've told him to keep all receipts for everything, including meals, and pass these on to the airline when evrything gets back to normal.

I think you'll find that if you show up at the airport when it does open again, then you won't be required to pay any fine. Go to any of the immigration offices and for sure they'll fine you. Unfortunately if you have the hotel problem then thats another matter altogether but if it was me, I would have moved elsewhere and simply contacted the airlines again.

Back to the airport issue................

My opinion now is that the police have every right to use any measure of force to clear those thugs out and the sooner they get started, the sooner the mess can be cleaned up. I'm sure the Chinese government could provide a few handy tips on how to get that airport cleared in record time.......lol

PAD guards capture plainclothes policewoman, parade her before protesters

A plainclothes policewoman was nearly lynched by angry protesters at the Don Mueang Airport Saturday afternoon after she was identified and captured by guards of the People's Alliance for Democracy.

The policewoman, who was identified later as Pol Sub Lt Suparp Antaptim, was spotted walking around the entrance to the airport at 11:30 am and telling arriving protesters to leave. She told them that police were about to disperse the rally.

She was taken to be on the stage in front of the protesters at 12:00 pm.

Maleerat Kaewka, a PAD leader, told the crowd that the woman was a policewoman on disguise.

Maleerat asked the protesters to remember the policewoman so that she could not sneak in again.

With her shaking voice, the policewoman asked the protesters to return home now as they could no longer stay there. She also apologised to them, saying she did not intend to inside the rally ground.

While she was being taken out of the airport, many angry protesters threw water into her face and many tried to hit her.

The guards had to shield her from attacks.

Many protesters took her picture and hurled abuses at her.

She was taken to a taxi and allowed to leave.

i don't think the police are powerful enough to do the job. the PAD have armed themselves and are capable of inflicting a heavy defeat on the police. the PAD have suffered violence against them and make no mistake they will fight.
the p.m. is powerless, the army will not accept his orders.
