Agree with You the understudy does johnyK For a Hot Disch I would prefer a fizzy Bitter Lemon with it.

Shiraz is a good call Hans. Or a shiraz/cab for Thai food. They work well as a counter to the coconut sweet. For Indian, on the other hand, I usually find a (not too sweet) sav blanc has just enough sweetness to counter the unsweet Indian heat.
