I personally think many have gone out of their way to help and advise you but you won't know until you come there for an extended period of time.
Maybe try being non combative and inquisitive in a way that allows you to learn genuinely about a place you have considered retiring to from those that already live there and understand that many have
extensive experience of the area, trust me. That's a good idea, I don't live in HH and have learnt from people on this forum about HH without upsetting too many people. It has been most enjoyable as everyone has something to contribute. I can contribute about where I reside as and when the subject arises, that can only benefit the forum in general.
It's a community, not a place to spout bollocks and show insecurity. The reaction to you has been mild, trust me, compared to "other" information portals.
When I first joined, I was not in HH and am not now, I didn't know anyone but just loved the place etc etc. You just have to approach this in the right way and things will progress in the right direction. The 'guns blazing', combative/belligerent/overly opinionated approach is not a good idea, never works in any situation.
It is worth remebering that you are talking to a lot of people that have spent a lot of time here, which you haven't.
Just being observational, nothing personal. I will say no more as have said more than enough on this subject on various threads.
