Dubai must be the exception then as virtually every airport I have been to I have always been asked for my boarding pass or at the very least my flight number.
At Heathrow I have even been asked for my boarding pass when buying a bottle of water!
At Singapore airport they will not even allow you to buy more than the duty free allowance of the Country you are going to!

Good luck, bj.blackowitz, you are going to get caught sometime, just hope the fine is not too much!

May very well be true. But the manifest does not have photos of the passengers, so how would the Customs identify you on your way out?DSB wrote:As a warning, when you buy your duty frees at the airport, they always ask for your passport and boarding card. This info is put on the aircraft manifest, and is usually the first thing to leave the aircraft at the other end.
The customs know how much duty free you have on you before you have even picked up your bags.

Just post some back home before you leave Thailand. Did it for years and never had any problems.
