Hi didgerydodar,

Welcome to the Forum. I'm afraid that I can't help you on the Moon Party question, but sure there'll be somebody along soon that can.

I hope there's no misconception, unless Pattaya has started having moon parties? I though they were all on Koh Phangan located near Koh Samui.

Anyway, my last reading about those a few months ago was that the authorities were cracking down hard on some of the activities and behaviour. Don't know if they have or if so, what that's done to the spirit of the events. Pete

Forgot to mention, you'll then probably be here for Songkran, official dates 13-15 April. Hang on to your hat and do some Googles about it. You'll either love it or hate it. If first time, you'll love it unless over about 55. :D  Pete

Yes, it looks as if you'll miss the main Songkran water throwing day in Pattaya which falls after the 15th I believe. Most towns have their own schedules. Below are a few other things to do besides bars and clubs. If you're into golf, there are 29 courses in under an hour drive. Pete

didgerydodar,

There is no ferry service from Pattaya to Hua Hin yet.

It really depends what you want to do. Most things are available in Hua Hin that are available in Pattaya - just in lesser amounts. Most of us on this forum prefer Hua Hin, so any other answer would probably be biased. There are no go-go bars in Hua Hin.
